/ 06/04/2014The general trend (other than Budapest) I am seeing is a huge lead by Fidesz, with Jobbik and the Left coalition being pretty much neck and neck, and in some districts even Jobbik has a huge lead over the left, like Hajdú-Bihar 04.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions yet, but I think the end result will most likely be 45-50% for Fidesz, 23-25% for the Left and 20-22% for Jobbik.

/ 06/04/2014‘Well I did my part by casting my vote!’ I envy you. I lost my voting rights because of the ‘residency’ condition. (Having a registered address in Hungary is no longer enough. You can vote in Hungary only if your primary residence is there. I was tempted to lie … 🙂

/ 06/04/2014I voted by mail! No I don’t life in the “old” parts of Hungary, but Western Europe and I am also not a “new” citizen. The process went amazing easy. I registered and got all the papers and ballot by mail and send it back. The only rule is, you can not have a primary residence in Hungary!

/ 06/04/2014Eh? Surely I did not muff it! I had to declare whether I am normally (for most of the time) resident in Hungary or in Britain, and in which of the two places I vote. Since I am a registered voter in Britain, I could not also remain a registered voter in Hungary. (If I misunderstood, I shall kick myself heftily.)

/ 06/04/2014even when you are a registered voter in a foreign country, you still can vote as a hungarian citizen by mail, if you don’t have a primary residence in Hungary. I am a good example of this…. don’t blame yourself to much! 🙂
