The Hungarian October which shook the Communist world

We commemorated the 61st anniversary of the Hungarian anti-Communist revolution and freedom fight against the occupying Soviet troops.

The weather wasn’t particularly nice since it was raining and coldish. Still, a large crowd gathered to listen to PM Orbán’s speech. The post-communist left-liberals, who  love to call themselves “democratic opposition”, cancelled their planned rally  “against Orbán’s dictatorship”  (no kidding, that’s how they speak indeed!) “because of the adverse weather conditions”.  In plain English: because of a lack of interest.

In the middle of the crowd….  I couldn’t see the speaker, or a screen, but at least I could hear him well.

Just like on the 15th of March, some “democrats” were blowing their whistles to disturb Orbán’s speech this time, too, but at least not inside the crowd.

You may watch the full speech, with English subtitles, here:

Orbán’s response to the EU

As most of my readers will know, the hysteria about George Soros CEU university is still going on and PM Orbán visited Brussels this week twice.  Please listen to his Wednesday speech in the European Parliament here:

Unfortunately I don’t know about an English language video for  the press conference which Orbán gave in Brussels later on Wednesday.  I’d say that was pretty good indeed. 🙂
After EC president Jean-Claude Juncker had official talks (!) with George Soros in the building of the European Commission on Thursday, obviously to pull strings against Hungary, PM  Orbán attended the meeting  of the European People’s Party, which his Fidesz party is a member of, and the EU summit on Brexit on Saturday.  There wasn’t really much new compared to what you may gleam from the above video.
By “popular demand” (from my Twitter followers), I’ll translate the official press release which summarized his stance at the end of the day. I haven’t seen an English version yet.
Hungary’s prime minister has stated on the executive meeting of the European People’s Party that Hungary’s government is open to cooperation with the European Commission in every unresolved legal issues.
As  we did in the past, we intend to settle the infringement procedures against Hungary via agreements. Hungary’s prime minister has clarified again that the Hungarian government is not adamant about closing George Soros’ Central University in Budapest. However no university may enjoy privileges. Hungarian laws apply to everybody. Higher education institutions, which don’t provide actual education and operate as off-shore mailboxes,  will not be allowed by the Hungarian laws in the future either.
Hungary’s prime minister has clarified that the National Consultation launched by the government is not against Europe. On the contrary, its purpose is to reform the European Union which malfunctions in many respects at the moment and it needs renewal.
The prime minister asked help from the European People’s Party so that the energy union proposal of  the European Commission, which would substantially increase the energy bills of the Hungarian families, should be withdrawn.
Concerning the issue of migration,  he stressed that Hungary is unable to accept the illegal migrants’ unchecked immigration  and the Hungarian government is going to keep the border fence, which defends Hungary and Europe, under any circumstances.

Hope this helps to clarify the situation.  The global mainstream media is busy posting fake news like “Hungary’s Orbán accepts EU demands”….

The knife

  1. If the turnout rate exceeds 50% and there are about 80% NO votes then Viktor will get Crocodile Dundee’s knife.
  2. If the turnout rate is below 50% and about 80%  of the votes say NO to the forced migrant EU quota  then Viktor will get the knife of “the kids having fun”.

Update:   It looks like he got only a big sharp kitchen knife. The referendum had a 43.31% turnout rate and the validity threshold is 50%. This means the referendum result is not legally binding for the Hungarian Parliament. However it was a “conclusive referendum” because 98.32% (yes!)  of the valid votes said NO.  In comparison, the  turnout was 45.62% on the referendum on Hungary’s EU membership in 2003 and 84% approved.  PM Orbán’s stance on the EU migration policies were supported by more than three million votes, that is a one million more than how many voted for his party on the last general elections in 2014. This means that the overwhelming majority of the politically active Hungarian voters reject the migration policies of the EU, that is their attempts to legalize illegal migration from the Middle East and Africa into Europe, and they support Orbán’s fight.

Do you want to allow the European Union …

to mandate the resettlement of non-Hungarian citizens to Hungary without the approval of the Hungarian National Assembly?

Fifteen years later

11_9

Today is the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks on the USA.  What were the consequences of that fatal day most people remember?  Yes, I also remember well that the 11th of September, 2001 was a Tuesday and what I was doing that day.

That Tuesday  has ended Fukuyama’s “liberal democracies equal to the end of history” vision indisputably. It was the first big crack in Pax Americana.  The USA was shocked to the core. The world was shocked, too. What would the giant do after the slap in the face?  Well, the “War on Terror” could have been described quite well by the fundamental Hollywood revenge topos.  It resulted in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and it resulted in the “Arab spring” when the still shaken superpower USA got rid of the Middle Eastern dictators  in the name of “democracy”…  But these Arab dictators  were actually the guardians of stability in a region where liberal democracy simply could never work in lack of basic cultural and historic preconditions.  Eventually 9/11 resulted in the bloodshed and anarchy we can witness today in the Middle East.

And, after years of anarchy and bloodshed, the population in the Middle East has decided (with lots of help and nudges from George Soros and Co., the puppet master of a possible USA president!) to go on a European hijra.  And now we have terror in the streets of Europe.

And the disappearance of the Middle Eastern cordon sanitaire  has opened up Europe to the depths of Black Africa, too.  Of course, without PC liberalism, perhaps Europe could have withstood the waves from 9/11… But that’s another topic which I have written about several times.

Is Western and Northern Europe beyond hope?

I’m reading today’s news from WN Europe.

  • The West Midlands Police, one of the UK’s largest polices,  are considering to allow their policewomen to wear a  full-face covering Muslim headsack called “burka’ on the job, as they drive to “increase the representation of BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic) officers to 30 per cent”.  Chief Constable David Thompson has justified the idea with “cultural sensitivity”.  The hijab, which is a Muslim scarf to cover only the head and neck, has been part of the London Metropolitan police force’s uniform for more than ten years and it has been introduced by many other UK forces since, including WMP, and most recently in Scotland,  this June.

burka-new

  • An Iraqi brother and sister, who emigrated to the UK with their family as asylum seekers and who were handed a council house in central London worth around £1.3 million, have both been charged with terror-related offences.

And here’s a piece of news from PC madhouse Sweden as well:

  • An interpreter has been suspended from duty by the Swedish Migration Board after she made a remark that many Arab migrants lie about their background to boost their chance of getting asylum and higher welfare payments. That’s a proven fact, of course.

Then there are today’s news from France.

  • Three women have been arrested  in Paris near Notre Dame cathedral. They had been planning an attack on a Paris railway station.  One of them stabbed a police officer with a knife.
  • Then two French women have been assaulted  and their husbands severely beaten, as their children  watched!, on the French Riviera after a gang of young Muslims called the women “whores” because the women were wearing shorts.
  • A French mayor has been reported to the police for so-called “hate crime” by left-liberal “social justice warriors” because he cited  a 1959 de Gaulle speech:

It is very good that there are yellow French, black French, brown French. They show that France is open to all races and has a universal vocation. But [it is good] on condition that they remain a small minority. Otherwise, France would no longer be France. We are still primarily a European people of the white race, Greek and Latin culture, and the Christian religion. Do you think the French body politic can absorb ten million Muslims, who tomorrow will be twenty million, after tomorrow forty? If we integrated, if all the Arabs and Berbers of Algeria were considered French, would you prevent them to settle in France, where the standard of living is so much higher? My village would no longer be called Colombey-The-Two-Churches but Colombey-The-Two-Mosques.

Similar news could be found from Western and Northern Europe by the dozens each day.  It looks like now the lethal mental disease of ‘politically correct liberalism’  manifests itself in newer and newer heights of insanity in WN Europe.

Prime Minister Orbán was awarded the “Man of the Year” award on Poland’s prestigious Krynica Economic Forum a few days ago. He said that

Twenty years ago young Europeans were always told that if they complete their studies, respect the laws and work diligently then they can get further in life than their parents had. But young people in most of the old EU member states would laugh at this idea today. This is still true in Central Europe, so Central Europe is the home of the “European dream” now.

Regarding the topic of migration, Orbán said that

the European countries should help those in need but at the same time they should preserve their own identities… The root cause of the migration crisis is that Europe is currently wealthy but weak. … It had to be made clear that there is a legal process that needs to be followed if one wants to enter Europe. If Europe does not make this clear it will lose everything it has worked for and it will be overrun by another community that has a stronger identity. Many overestimate the impact multiculturalism has on integration and underestimate migrants’ ability to preserve their own identities.

and, most importantly, he added that

Europe needs deep changes. These changes must be rooted in a cultural counter-revolution.

Nothing short of that will save WN Europe!  Politically correct liberalism must be eradicated from politics, media and cultural life.

Orbán’s lecture on the 27th Summer Open University in Transylvania

Thank you for Bill Still  for the English-subtitled video. Please check out his website.

The video starts playing where, as the first (and so far only?) incumbent leader in the world, he endorsed US Presidential Candidate Donald Trump.
However it’s highly recommended to watch the lecture in full!

Hungary to build second line of border defence

Prime minister Viktor Orbán said in this regular radio interview  today that  Hungary is going to build a new, “massive, serious defense system” on its Southern borders to defend against a possible surge in the number of migrants.  “The fortified barrier will be able to stop several hundreds of thousands of people if, for example, Turkey allows the millions of migrants to leave for Western Europe.”

He suggested that Austria should help defending the Serbian-Hungarian border, or preferably the Macedonian-Greek border, together with the other Central European countries, instead of  focussing on the Austrian-Hungarian border.

The Hungarian government announced last week that they will employ 3000 more policemen to defend the border. The recruitment will start in September and, after their fast track training, they will be deployed already next spring.

After the morning interview, PM Orbán left for Warsaw where he and other V4 leaders will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The prime minister said that “people  who claim there’s no connection between the migration and terrorism either haven’t the foggiest or they try to conceals clear-cut facts for some reason.  Terrorism has increased in Europe because hundreds of thousands uncontrolled migrants appeared places where the Western world is regarded enemy. There’s a semi-war situation in Europe and you cannot risk people’s safety under such circumstances”.

Mr. Orbán also said that the European leaders should reject the forced migrant quota idea of the Brussels bureaucrats. The V4 leaders want change and the question is if Angela Merkel would be a partner to V4 this afternoon.  He said that the result of the meeting hangs in the balance.  There are several issues where the viewpoints are not known. “I myself haven’t unfolded all my cards either”.

“The October 2 referendum will mean that a European nation won’t accept the decision of the Brussels bureaucrats. So that will not result in a negotiating position.  That will result in a final, solid Hungarian stance. This may rally many other countries to Hungary’s side as well”, he added.

Happy 1016th birthday, Hungary!

It’s St. Stephen‘s day today.  As most readers would know, people celebrate their “nameday” in Central and Eastern Europe and this is the nameday of our founding king, St. Stephen I. There are all sort of programs today: concerts or

Augusztus 20. - Mesterségek ünnepe

the traditional Artisans’ Fair in Buda Castle

Then there will be the fireworks as well tonight, of course.

From a political point of view,  cabinet minister János Lázár, Prime Minister Orbán’s right-hand man, delivered a remarkable speech this morning:

Hungary has never renounced her sovereignty. An independent Christian state is St. Stephen’s heritage. The European Union is not a many century old political union, it’s a pilot project.  Today’s unelected European leaders with zero legitimacy try to tweak the basic treaties of the EU in stealth mode to their liking.  The EU is stricken by financial crises, Brexit and the migration crisis.  Brussels tries to sweep the chief problem, that is the diminishing prestige of the EU and the uncontrolled millions knocking on the gates, under the carpet with their mandatory migrant quota idea. Hungary’s preserving her sovereignty serves the interests of the European community, too.

If needed then we’ll defend Europe even from herself. Hungary will not let down those European citizens who are dissatisfied with Brussels. It’s not the idea, it’s the practice of  the European Union what is wrong.

There will be an EU summit on the migration crisis and Brexit in the capital of V4 country Slovakia ( Pozsony, Bratislava) in September.  We live in interesting times.

Orbán’s “Schengen 2.0” proposals

Yesterday Mr. Orbán visited German ex-Chancellor Helmut Kohl in his home in Germany .  The visit made the whole German press very agitated. Every major newspaper and TV channel reported on it and they were speculating about an “anti-Merkel conspiracy”.  🙂

31000

The two politicians issued a statement after the meeting, emphasizing their full agreement on the issue of Europe’s migration crisis.
Orbán told the German media  that “Hungary stands by Berlin and will continue to support Chancellor Merkel  with initiatives like the “Schengen 2.0” plan which is  aimed at protecting the European Union’s external borders.”

So these are PM Orbán’s proposals to solve  the migration crisis, with some explanation.

1. The Schengen rules have to be enforced strictly by each member state, according to the signed treaties. When a Member State is unable to fulfil its Schengen duties, the European Border Protection Agency must intervene, and in the “absence of an agreement, the state’s membership in Schengen should be suspended.

2. All outer borders must be protected with biometric identification measures.

The above two points are obviously aimed at Greece and Italy which both fail to protect their borders from the invaders.

3. The Dublin System needs to be completely reinstated, and needs to be completely enforced. Failure to implement this agreement must result in penalties being applied to the offending state.

This is aimed at all Western and Northern European countries but especially at Germany . Merkel unilaterally ditched the Dublin System by her invitation to the Middle Eastern migrants.

4. Any applications for asylum must take place outside of the EU, at places set up and designated by the EU.

This would obviously stop the “asylum seeking” sham.

5. All agreements on deportations must be concluded in the countries of origin and transit of the “asylum seekers” and they must be enforced in cooperation with them.

As it’s well-known, most originating nations (in North and Black Africa, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, etc.) are simply refusing or ignoring all requests to take back their illegal migrant nationals.

6. Illegal migrants should be sent to safe countries of their origin or they should be transited back to their countries of origin.

7. The EU’s foreign, security, visa, and “development” (that is foreign aid) policies must be tied in to the EU migration policy objectives. The willingness of migrant originating countries to cooperate must be conditional on the granting of aid.

8. The EU must make resources available to the current entry hotspots and to the western Balkan nations so that they could cope with border security.

9. A list of safe third countries must be drawn up and this must be taken into consideration when asylum applications are considered, as must the number of safe countries the asylum seekers have crossed to get to the EU.

That’s because you’re an illegal migrant, not an asylum seeker, if you cross multiple safe countries to get somewhere in order to maximize the benefits you could get.

10. All “demographic and labor market challenges and responses” are to be reserved for “sovereign national decisions.”

This is about rejecting that the EU would have the right to “allocate refugees” to the member states. There cannot be any kind of mandatory distribution or automatic mechanism to distribute the “refugees.” by the EU. If Merkel really wants Muslim migrants for her Germanistan dream then she’d have to send charter flights to the Middle East to transfer them to Germany.
