On conservatism

English philosopher and political thinker Sir Roger Scruton, who is held in especially high esteem in Central Europe and Hungary, gave a lecture on conservatism in the Danube Institute a few months ago. I’ve just noticed a video recording is now available.

Is Western and Northern Europe beyond hope?

I’m reading today’s news from WN Europe.

  • The West Midlands Police, one of the UK’s largest polices,  are considering to allow their policewomen to wear a  full-face covering Muslim headsack called “burka’ on the job, as they drive to “increase the representation of BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic) officers to 30 per cent”.  Chief Constable David Thompson has justified the idea with “cultural sensitivity”.  The hijab, which is a Muslim scarf to cover only the head and neck, has been part of the London Metropolitan police force’s uniform for more than ten years and it has been introduced by many other UK forces since, including WMP, and most recently in Scotland,  this June.

burka-new

  • An Iraqi brother and sister, who emigrated to the UK with their family as asylum seekers and who were handed a council house in central London worth around £1.3 million, have both been charged with terror-related offences.

And here’s a piece of news from PC madhouse Sweden as well:

  • An interpreter has been suspended from duty by the Swedish Migration Board after she made a remark that many Arab migrants lie about their background to boost their chance of getting asylum and higher welfare payments. That’s a proven fact, of course.

Then there are today’s news from France.

  • Three women have been arrested  in Paris near Notre Dame cathedral. They had been planning an attack on a Paris railway station.  One of them stabbed a police officer with a knife.
  • Then two French women have been assaulted  and their husbands severely beaten, as their children  watched!, on the French Riviera after a gang of young Muslims called the women “whores” because the women were wearing shorts.
  • A French mayor has been reported to the police for so-called “hate crime” by left-liberal “social justice warriors” because he cited  a 1959 de Gaulle speech:

It is very good that there are yellow French, black French, brown French. They show that France is open to all races and has a universal vocation. But [it is good] on condition that they remain a small minority. Otherwise, France would no longer be France. We are still primarily a European people of the white race, Greek and Latin culture, and the Christian religion. Do you think the French body politic can absorb ten million Muslims, who tomorrow will be twenty million, after tomorrow forty? If we integrated, if all the Arabs and Berbers of Algeria were considered French, would you prevent them to settle in France, where the standard of living is so much higher? My village would no longer be called Colombey-The-Two-Churches but Colombey-The-Two-Mosques.

Similar news could be found from Western and Northern Europe by the dozens each day.  It looks like now the lethal mental disease of ‘politically correct liberalism’  manifests itself in newer and newer heights of insanity in WN Europe.

Prime Minister Orbán was awarded the “Man of the Year” award on Poland’s prestigious Krynica Economic Forum a few days ago. He said that

Twenty years ago young Europeans were always told that if they complete their studies, respect the laws and work diligently then they can get further in life than their parents had. But young people in most of the old EU member states would laugh at this idea today. This is still true in Central Europe, so Central Europe is the home of the “European dream” now.

Regarding the topic of migration, Orbán said that

the European countries should help those in need but at the same time they should preserve their own identities… The root cause of the migration crisis is that Europe is currently wealthy but weak. … It had to be made clear that there is a legal process that needs to be followed if one wants to enter Europe. If Europe does not make this clear it will lose everything it has worked for and it will be overrun by another community that has a stronger identity. Many overestimate the impact multiculturalism has on integration and underestimate migrants’ ability to preserve their own identities.

and, most importantly, he added that

Europe needs deep changes. These changes must be rooted in a cultural counter-revolution.

Nothing short of that will save WN Europe!  Politically correct liberalism must be eradicated from politics, media and cultural life.

Orbán quotes from today’s speech

Prime Minister held his regular, annual “State of the Nation” speech  this afternoon.

cctfcc2woaaxabz

The scene of the speech, “Várkert”, was shamefully derelict until Orbán’s government had it renovated it last year

The transcript is not available in English yet but no doubt you may read it soon on Mr. Orbán’s site here.

As usual, the speech took a broad, historic view and it was spiced up with great metaphors and jokes.  First he gave a broad historic overview of Hungary’s last 150 years, the various eras and its struggles to develop the country. After a few remarks on the political and economic situation,  the second half of the speech was about the migrant crisis and its historic context.  Let’s see some memorable quotes from this part in no particular order:

We should never be dragged into anti-Russian,anti-German or anti-Turkish international political manoeuvres.  Politics based on moral superiority, which is often cultivated in the West, doesn’t fit Hungarian interests.

In Western Europe, now  boundaries are blurred between good and bad, women and men, reality and dreams.

There’s no freedom, community or individual success in the face of reality. There’s only political drug addiction, failures, cynicism and self-destruction if you fight  reality. Maybe this is why there are so many high-minded unhappy liberals in Brussels.

If we don’t act now, the tension between Europe and the Muslim world will be out of control, here on our territory.

It’s not migrants who we should be angry at. They are also victims, they do only what their interest is- but Europe does not do that!

Europe has the capacity to protect itself.  Brussels can’t organise this defence and doesn’t even want to.

How is it even possible to let in masses of people without any control? We just don’t get that here in the Visegrád countries.

Europe is Hellas, it’s not Persia; Europe is Rome, it’s not Carthage. Europe is Christianity, it’s not caliphates.

Some of the Western political elites are cosmopolitan but  people are patriots – these elites don’t understand their own people.

Uncontrolled masses are being transferred into Europe – we don’t know who is a terrorist, who is a criminal, an economic migrant or a refugee: this is CRAZY.

Spring is coming. We must help the countries of the Balkans because they are protecting Europe’s borders.

Hungary is a sovereign country, only those may enter our territory who respect our rules and abide our armed forces.

We cannot let Brussels to place itself above the law. They can’t force us to import their mistakes. There won’t be no-go zones, there won’t be riots in Hungary, there won’t be attacks on refugee centres and gangs are not going to harass our wives and daughters.

We don’t believe that Europe will give up its legacy.  Rest assured Hungary won’t make a single step on that road.

UPDATE:  Watch the speech with English subtitles here.
He speaks about the existential danger Hungary and European civilization face  in the second half.

Political correctness kills the West

The mass sexual attacks on German women in Cologne and many other German cities (and, as later it turned out, there were similar incidents in Salzburg, Austria or Finland, etc. too) have been eye-opening for many people.  However the biggest eye-opener was  the fact that the whole German media, in unison with the German authorities, could cover up events of this importance and of scale for four full days! These events also revealed where the “progressives”, the politically correct feminists, etc. really stand.

racists-rapists

Prime Minister Orbán said about today’s politically correct liberalism a few months ago:

[politically correctness uses] an anti-democratic, liberal language and that’s an ironic development because liberalism was once for freedom but now it stands for the opposite

Yes, modern liberalism is showing its true colours at last.

The politically correct liberal government of the Netherlands has been very vocal to condemn Hungary, and recently Poland, regarding freedom of speech, media laws, “checks and balances” and what-have-you.  Now we have learned the Dutch cops are policing anti-migration comments. They are even threatening social media users by visiting them in their homes, only because they oppose government policies.

Unless people in the Western civilization, that is Europe, North America and Australia will wake up very soon and its citizens will vote accordingly, to preserve their identity, their way of life and culture,  soon the lethal politically correct mix of “multiculturalism”, “anti-racism”, “gender theory”, “gay rights”, “feminism”, “anti-clericalism”, the constant accusations of “Islamophobia” or “anti-Semitism”, “Fascism”, besmirching patriotism and elevating cosmopolitanism will kill our Christianity-based civilization entirely.

Obama proudly meddles in Hungarian domestic politics again

Today’s news is that President Obama said at the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC that

when a statue of an anti-Semitic leader from World War II was planned in Hungary, we led the charge to convince their government to reverse course.  This was not a side note to our relations with Hungary, this was central to maintaining a good relationship with the United States, and we let them know.

Yes, the president of mighty 320 million-strong superpower USA has boasted that he personally arm-twisted the prime minister of a small 10 million-strong Central European country so that a rural Hungarian city of 100,000 people shouldn’t erect a statue for a most eminent Hungarian historian and numismatics expert who was also a minister during WWII and who co-signed some anti-Jewish document with other legislators.  No, the statue wasn’t a Hungarian government project but it was Prime Minister Viktor Orbán whom President Obama proudly arm-twisted so that he should pressurize the self-government of Székesfehérvár in order to cancel the plans for the statue.  Yes, Obama has won.

This is the world we live in. It’s pretty much like in the days of the Soviet Union.

Lies, lies, (neo)liberals…

The left-wing/left-liberals have been, and are, lying a lot about Mr. Orbán’s speech in Tusnádfürdő, Transylvania which was an attack on the neoliberal ideology indeed.  The global media presented this as if  Orbán had declared his intention to destroy democracy itself.  Let me remind everybody that (neo)liberalism doesn’t equal to democracy.   The US-based  New York Times went as far as to demand EU (!!) sanctions against Hungary in their appalling editorial.

Another typical lie is that “Orbán said that freedom is not the central element of state organisation”. In fact this is what he said:

the new state that we are constructing in Hungary is an illiberal, a non-liberal state. It does not reject the fundamental principles of liberalism such as freedom, and I could list a few more, but it does not make this ideology the central element of state organisation but instead includes a different, special, national approach.

Here’s the full speech in English if you are actually interested in what Mr. Orbán said.

Update: “Illiberális” means “non-liberal” (more exactly “liberal in  the wrong way”) in Hungarian, the language Mr. Orbán used to deliver his speech, and nothing else.  I’ve just learned that this political term was introduced in 1997 by a certain Fareed Rafiq Zakaria in the USA to mean  “fake democracy, partial democracy, Potemkin-democracy”. Apparently hardly anybody knew about this in Hungary. The translator of Orbán’s speech didn’t know  or I myself  didn’t know either (until a few minutes ago). So the correct translation of the above quote into the English language is to omit the word “illiberal”.  In fact Mr. Orbán should have said “postliberal” in that particular sentence. That fits the whole speech much better.

‘Roma crime’ is the left-lib parlance for Jobbik-phrase ‘Gypsy crime’

Perhaps I don’t need to introduce Ferenc Gyurcsány, the prime minister of the postcommunist-leftlib MSZPSZDSZ coalition between 2004 and 2009.  You know the one who admitted to his comrades-in-sin behind closed doors in 2006 that MSZP-SZDSZ “lied  night and day and did nothing” (with the active help of the European Commission) in order to win the elections. When they did win and Gyurcsány’s secret obscene speech was leaked, huge crows protested for his resignation and new elections.  Instead of that Gyurcsány had the police shoot protestors in the eye, beat many people to half-dead … while those very human pressure groups of some particular rights (Amnesty International, TASZ, Helsinki Committee, etc. ) kept a low profile. Oh, well,  then Hungary was a democracy which Freedom House ranked higher than today’s Hungary when it’s the left-lib protesters who beat up each other and the police only investigates…  Here is the story:

Albert Pásztor, the police chief of Miskolc in 2009,  held a press conference on the 30th of January, 2009.  Miskolc is an industrial city in Northern Hungary, where Gypsies constitute a high proportion of the population, and crime rates are much higher than elsewhere. Pásztor said in the press conference that a particular kind of street mugging is committed by Gypsies only and he added “cohabitation is not possible with our minority citizens. Yes, that’s it.”     Gyurcsány, who was still PM at that time,  rushed to hold a press conference and he theatrically announced he had ordered the police minister to fire Pásztor for his “racist hate speech”.   There was a local demonstration in Miskolc for Pásztor… with the participation  the local (Miskolc)  MSZP organization, that is Gyurcsány’s party then.

Jobbik was rising strongly and steadily in the beginning of 2009 and one of their main slogans was “combatting ‘cigánybűnözés’ (Gypsy-crime).   “No state employee is allowed to speak of ‘cigánybűnözés'”, Gyurcsány roared in February, 2009 on his press conference.   His exact words were: “this is not simply outrageous. This is sickening.”  He was forced to resign two months later and his economic minister Gordon Bajnai was made PM.

Fidesz won their first landslide victory a year later.  Gyurcsány left MSZP soon, after a lot of bickering, and he established his own party called “Democratic Coalition“.  (They are democratic because they call themselves “democrats” in each second sentence they utter and they call the right wing dictatoric, Fascist, anti-Semitic, racist and what-have-you.)  The major political theme of Gyurcsány’s “left-liberal” party is  anti-racism, fighting for LBGT and  Roma rights, etc.
Fidesz made the penal laws stricter after 2010 and they reinforced the police, too.  They also introduced “public work” for the poor and unskilled, that is basically people are made to work for their benefits, but crime is still a problem in a lot of places, including Miskolc.  Yes, poor, unskilled Gypsies, a lot of them living in slums, commit a lot of crime in Miskolc.

Now, after the second landslide victory of Fidesz in the general elections and before the local elections due to be held in October,  MSZP and Gyurcsány’s party nominated the very same ex-policeman for Miskolc’s mayor whom they fired so theatrically in 2009.

Amnesty International, TASZ, Helsinki Committee, etc.  keep a low profile about this move…

Today, five years later, these are Gyurcsány’s words about Pásztor: “I see the whole of the man rather than those particular words of his.”   Moreover the vice president of Gyurcsány’s small extremist “left-lib” party, Mátyás Eörsi was talking about “Roma-crime” (romabűnözés) last week in an interview on the left-liberal TV channel ATV.    This former SZDSZ politician has always been… er, very, very vocal about racism like discrimination against the Roma… Though, to tell the truth, his real speciality is accusing people of anti-Semitism… (he’s  Jewish)

The local organization of ex-MSZP PM Bajnai’s Együtt-PM, another splinter party of MSZP founded after 2010, also supported running Pásztor for Miskolc mayor. However the national leadership did not.  Márton Gulyás, the NGO leader who recently blurted out that George Soros is financing anti-government political demonstrations via the so-called “Norwegian Civil Fund”, is closely related to Együtt-PM.   He turned up at Gyurcsány’s political rally on Saturday (advertised as “The day of resistance” ) and he held a sign protesting Pásztor’s mayor candidacy and the phrase “Roma crime”.   Gyurcsány’s fans promptly destroyed his sign and they also beat him during the speech of Ágnes Kunhalmi, who is .. surprise, surprise… the Budapest leader of MSZP, that is Gyurcsány’s ex-party.  Later Gyurcsány’s democrats threw burning cigarette stubs at Gulyás.

Tonight Gyurcsány’s “Demokratikus Koalíció” made a press release demanding to know if “Gulyás’ provocation occured in his capacity as a civil political activist or if he acted as an employee of Együtt-PM, with the full knowledge of his party leadership”.

A cup of nice coffee for me, please. 🙂

PS: I expect to see this story in the Western media under titles like “Fascist demonstrators attack human rights activist in Hungary” 😀

Epic fail

Hungary’s conservative government dared to launch an investigation into the matters of the so-called “Norvég Civil Alap” (Norway Civic Fund).  As it turned out last year, really the network is operated by the neoliberal Jewish American billionaire, stock exchange shark and CIA-smelling, colour revolution supporter George Soros  who is the money distributor and manager of this Norwegian state organization.   Soros heavily funds the postcommunist opposition, such as ex-Socialist PM Bajnai’s “Haza és Haladás” foundation, and most importantly he supports everything socially subversive:  militant homosexual activists, drug addicts, militant pro-abortion groups, a “trade union”  of prostitutes, militant “Roma rights” groups,   “human rights” groups … but of the right kind only.  For example, they turned down supporting the  Baptist Humanitarian Aid Mission  because, according to them, “it doesn’t comply with the modern approach to human rights”.

Today’s news is that now even Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Thomas O. Melia,  the former Deputy Executive Director of Freedom House , got involved…  Yes,  it smells CIA.

English: Bajnai has met George Soros in New York

Gordon Bajnai meeting George Soros in New York (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The board of the allegedly non-political money-distributing NGO consists of persons closely related to the “left-liberal” political forces Mr. Soros is so fond of. According to Roger Scruton, the famous British conservative political thinker, the Soros-network is behind the bad reputation Hungary has in the global media and they spread the image of “Hungary’s becoming a Fascist dictatorship“:

It’s not persecution complex to speak about conspiracy against Hungary. As far as I can see from England, there is such a conspiracy indeed. There are quite a few people who feature Hungary as ‘a Fascistic   dictatorship’ in the international media all the time . Universities, especially expensive American ones, generally can be characterized by left-wing bias. These give fellowships to people, who are often very intelligent and interesting people, who come from the circles of Miklós Haraszti and János Kis (prominent ex SZDSZ leaders). Then they use their privileges in the Western world to be “opposition beyond the borders”. I think that’s illegitimate political power.

Now these so-called NGOs , with Soros in the background,  cry rivers about “checks and balances”, “civic society building”, “human rights” and “the rule of law” …. and then they are trying not to reveal the documents the government is entitled to ask from any NGO registered in Hungary.   They insist they are “civic organizations” and the Hungarian state should have nothing to do with the money which was flowing from Norway .  On the other hand the government says  that in fact this is direct foreign meddling in Hungary’s internal politics.   Both  Norway  and Hungary   have already summoned their ambassadors regarding this on-going political row.

Márton Gulyás, a manager of one of these  NGOs in question is breezily whining in this video how KEHI (Governmental Auditor Office) cannot demand internal documents from them (concerning who decided, and how, which organizations were given money and which were not). The interview was made by the left-liberal ATV TV channel but even Olga Kálmán, an  infamously partisan left-liberal reporter  was astonished when Gulyás blurted out that the “Norwegian Civic Fund” financed a recent left-liberal political demonstration against the government.

What an epic fail! 😀

RTL Klub war plan with moralizing on freedom of press

The freedom of press is a morally higher consideration than the questions of viewing rates and economic issues…

said  Péter Kolosi, a top leader of the commercial TV channel RTL Klub ,  in an interview  why  RTL Klub attacked Lőrinc Mészáros,  the mayor of Felcsút*, so hard in their Wednesday night news programme.  RTL Klub is owned  by the German Bertelsmann conglomerate. (You know that company which  was the biggest single producer of Nazi propaganda during WWII)

So here goes a real miracle: a commercial TV channel which puts freedom of press  first and its profits second!  Or at least they are going to do so from now on because one wouldn’t have thought this has been their priority list so far,  judging from  their programming which consists of reality shows deeply humiliating and exploiting their “stars”,  trash soap operas, tabloid news  only, etc.  Luckily they are going to mean it now.  And  all this miraculous change  for the better required only that they  pay a bit of tax…

Have you made a war plan (against the government) at RTL Klub?” , the reporter asked the commercial TV manager later

Certainly” was the answer.

* Felcsút is the village where Prime Minister Orbán grew up and where he’s got a house and where he established the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy.  The Hungarian Parliament passed a new law  on Tuesday which is going to make RTL Klub pay a lot of advertisement  tax.

Oh, the European Commission has announced already today that they are examining the content of the ad tax act  passed on Tuesday.   They are so damn quick… in such a case.

New government sworn in

… we stand by the classic Lincolnian thought: our government shall be of the people, by the people, for the people. We reject elitism and, in response, the elites call this politics “populism” … We need elites but we don’t need an elitist government.

… The election winner is not right. The election winner has a job to do.  The greater is the mandate one gets, the greater is the responsibility one bears.

Prime ministerial inauguration speech by Viktor Orbán, on the 6th of June, 2014.

The third Orbán government

Orbán’s full speech and the introduction of the ministers (in Hungarian) can be watched here.  Note that he, a practising Calvinist, finished with Soli Deo gloria , one of the Five solas,  He seems to make this into a tradition at such ceremonial occasions.

The new government held its first meeting in the afternoon and it was revealed that PM Orbán asked Defence Minister Hende to investigate the possibility his ministry could move to Székesfehérvár, Agriculture Minister Fazekas about moving to Debrecen, cabinet minister Lázár about moving the countryside development state secretary office to Kecskemét.   Given the incredible  weight in state administration  1.7 million strong Budapest has in 10 million strong Hungary, I’d say this would be a paradigm shift in Hungarian politics!  Though I’m sceptical it would actually happen. The first freely elected government in 1990 wanted  the Constitutional Court to work in Esztergom, there was even a law about this but the Constitutional Court still moved to Budapest “temporarily” and “for practical reasons” … until 2012 when a law eventually stated that the Constitutional Court is based in Budapest.   Yup, that was a farce.
